In this half day workshop you will learn to apply design thinking to biodiversity challenges in UK urban centres. We'll share inspiring examples of designing for and with the environment, and give you some insight into the potential opportunities on the horizon for bright, inspired designers working in this area.
At the end of the session you will have produced a concept design response to a biodiversity challenge that you have identified and explored in the workshop.
You will also learn several effective design thinking techniques and skills that you can deploy on a broad range of problems:
How to decide your “boundary of interest” and use it to focus your attention
How to have confidence you’re making “right” environmental decisions when designing
How to break down a complex design challenge into manageable components
